In Brief:

Studies from Zambia and Cameroon find that transport constraints, and their impact on rural livelihoods and service provision are a high priority for the rural poor. Consequently transport based livelihood strategies are found to reduce vulnerability and improve livelihood outcomes of the rural poor.
