Thanks for your response to my request.

I agree with the first two words but not necessarily the third one. Una 'estategia de medio de vida' may not necessarily be sustainable and it changes according to environmental or maket environments. In some cases a livelihood strategy, that of net extractive nature, may induce environmental degradation. Duraippah, 1998 (Pov. and environ. degrad. World Development, 26: 2169-2179) has a good discussion of the nexus--excessive forest extraction and poverty.

However, in the sense that DFID uses it, yes, they mean sustainable livelihoods.
