| I
am working as a development consultant for a number of international
organisations on different issues relating to the impact of
multilateral trade agreements, especially the agreement on
agriculture on rural producers, especially women producers.
In this
context, markets are a key institutions as rural markets,
in particular, are the best places through which an exchange
economy can be promoted to ensure sustainable agricultural
growth. However, "getting farm prices right" does
not always trickle down to the rural producers.
My work
in this regard has been focusing on building linkages and
enhancing the trust between small-scale producers, buyers
and suppliers of critical inputs with an emphasis on the gendered
aspects of market-related interventions.
I would
like to learn from the experiences of other development practitioners
in this field and share my own knowledge based on practical
experience gained during the implementation of the different
projects. Please get in touch if you have experience to share?
