UNHCR
Keen to Use Findings from Research - Establishes New Policy
Development and Evaluation Service
|
 |
Background |
A Policy
Development and Evaluation Service (PDES) has recently been established
in UNHCR, replacing the former Evaluation and Policy Analysis Unit
(EPAU). Located in the Executive Office, reporting directly to the
High Commissioner PDES has assumed responsibility for the formulation,
development and implementation of the organization’s evaluation
activities. PDES also acts as a focal point for UNHCR’s relations
with external evaluation and policy development entities, as well
as the academic and research communities.
PDES is keen to develop its cooperation with researchers and to ensure
that their work is effectively disseminated and utilized. PDES would
be particularly interested to hear from researchers who are working
on the following issues:
- Patterns
and protection dimensions of mixed migratory movements
-
Protection interventions in situations of internal displacement
-
Refugee remittances
PDES
also welcomes contributions to its working paper series, 'New
Issues in Refugee Research', on refugee, migration and humanitarian
issues.
