The
Refugee Livelihoods Networks
upcoming edition will focus on the case of Afghanistan, bringing
together information on refugee livelihood initiatives and
lessons learned from livelihood projects operating in the
region.
Currently finding itself in the extremely slow and fragile
process towards improved security and stability, Afghanistans
developments can teach us many things. The security situation
in large parts of the country is still unstable, and political
developments are slow and fragile. At the same time, huge
investments are being made in the country for post-conflict
reconstruction; and over two million Afghan refugees have
returned from the region.
The
question is what impact these developments have on the livelihoods
of various groups of people in Afghanistan, and how organisations
are trying to guarantee sustainable livelihoods for those
who stay, internally displaced people, refugees and those
who return.
Deadline
for submissions -24 December, 2004.
