The
UNHCR Evaluation and Policy Analysis Unit (EPAU) has initiated
an email list-serve on livelihoods and would like to invite
you to participate.
The
email listserve will include a network of practitioners and
researchers with a common interest in refugee livelihoods
and self-reliance issues. The purpose of the network will
be to exchange ideas and lessons learned, to keep members
abreast of current initiatives and to provide an opportunity
for learning and inter-agency co-operation. By collecting
and disseminating various types of information, the network
will be used to facilitate knowledge on livelihood strategies
and activities of refugees and IDPs. Furthermore, it hopes
to foster exchange on the ways in which those strategies can
be supported by humanitarian and development agencies.
The
list is easy to join and will be maintained by staff in the
Evaluation and Policy Analysis Unit in Geneva, in collaboration
with Jeff Crisp, head of the unit.
Please
feel free to pass this information on to others who may be
interested. In addition we ask that you send a message to
Carrie Conway (conway@unhcr.ch),
briefly (in a few sentences) describing your interest and
experience in livelihood issues and what you would hope to
get out of this listserve.
For
your convenience we aim keep the email traffic to a minimum
and plan to send out one message per week! Watch for the first
posting which is expected to be sent out in mid July.
