Food Security and HIV/AIDS Regional Technical Advisor
(Save the Children)

Save the Children seeks Technical Advisor for the Africa Region to enhance the quality and impact of food security programmes in Africa by providing technical support and oversight to design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and documentation of Save the Children's Food Security programs in Africa.


Capacity building, monitoring systems and developing HIV/AIDS and Food Security programming approaches are important components. In addition, the Technical Advisor will play a key role in research and documentation, as well as, development of proposals, budgets, annual reports, and surveys,
etc.

Bachelor's degree in related field with 5-10 years' experience in
international development field with a focus on food security program development and management. Advanced degree preferred. Strong understanding of HIV/AIDS programming issues and food security concepts, demonstrated
successful track record in multi-sectoral programming with specific experience in nutrition/health, livelihoods, and HIV/AIDS programs desired.
Excellent communication skills, including solid writing, editing, and training experience are essential. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, often in harsh conditions, ability to be pro-active and drive programs, and strong experience in leading teams and capacity building. Experience in developing budgets, and understanding of commodity management issues a plus. Fluency in Portuguese helpful. Ability to travel throughout the region is essential (50% travel anticipated).
