Duryog Nivaran (DN) welcomes you to participate in a Livelihoods Survey:

  • Are you engaged in the promotion of Sustainable Livelihoods?
  • Do you have knowledge and experience to share on this?
  • Do you know of others working in Sustainable Livelihoods whose experiences should be shared?

The project

The project, sponsored by the UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN/ISDR), is for Duryog Nivaran to compile a review of progress on Sustainable Livelihoods for disaster risk and poverty reduction for the South Asia region. The review will look at they key aspects of Sustainable Livelihoods, as applied in practice, in disaster relief and poverty reduction programmes.

Calling on those with experience in the area, the questionnaire is available here as a word document. It consists of several questions relating to practical experiences in Sustainable Livelihoods.

The Organisation

Duryog Nivaran is a South Asian network committed to promoting disaster reduction. It takes an alternative to the dominant perspectives. Rather than seeing those involved in disaster and conflict as victims, it sees them as potential participants. Duryog emphasises a livelihoods approach in analysing vulnerability of people in affected areas on a broader contextual level, rather than merely seeing disaster and its conesquences as an isolated event.

Please return the form to the Duryog Nivaran Secretariat by e-mail on: dnnet@practicalaction.or.lk
