Introductory Speeches

Angelika Brustinow (DFID, Eastern Europe & Central Asia) and Laura Tuck (World Bank), both spoke about their organisations's approach to rural livelihoods in the region at the beginning of the workshop.

Case Studies

Each country team was asked to prepare case studies on the lessons they had learnt from applying the livelihoods approach.

The short presentations they gave were on their experiences to date in implementing DFID rural livelihoods projects/programmes, and were based on Governance, Economic and Social themes.

All case studies are in PDF format, and are in both English (ENG) and Russian flag Russian (RUS).

Working Groups (SGS)

During the afternoon sessions of Day 2, a series of working groups was also held, one of which was on the Strengths, Gaps and Strategies of each country mission.

Country teams gave presentations on the percieved strengths and gaps of their missions, as well as highlighting opportunities through which they could to build on, or overcome these factors.
