Objectives

As part of the Sustainable Livelihoods Seminar Series DFID held three training seminars on Sustainable Livelihoods and Environment. The seminars took place on 1 and 21 Nov 2001 and 26 Mar 2002 in London.

The aims of the seminars were:

  • to stimulate improved awareness of SLAs among environmental consultants; and
  • to improve awareness among users of SLAs of experience in environmental mainstreaming.

There provided an opportunity for shared learning due to the central importance of for example, putting people at the centre, macro-micro linkages, integrative multidisciplinary working, and integration throughout policy and project planning cycles.
