2000 Sustainable Livelihoods Fora: Background |
A
series of four one-day Fora on Sustainable Livelihoods for
consultants working with, or interested in working with, DFID,
were held between May and October 2000. The fora were organised
by the Centre For International Development Training and funded
by the Sustainable Livelihoods Support Office DFID. Participants
were encouraged to reflect on the underlying principles of
SL approaches and to consider the implications of the approaches
for their own work and self-development. The events provided
a valuable opportunity for 187 consultants to familiarise
themselves with developments within DFID, share experiences
and concerns and to network with other professionals from
different sectors/disciplines.
