Audience: Participants from a range of backgrounds, including: Health, Education, Environment, Infrastructure, Urban Development and Natural resources - with an interest in a sustainable livelihoods approach to development

Learning Methodology:  Participatory methodology; Learning through case studies; Group work; Discussions; Role play; Debates; Presentations. The course aims to build on existing knowledge of the participants.
Subject: Sustainable Livelihoods and their practical application by development workers

Content: The course consists of several different stages, including: An introduction to the nature of poverty and its challenges; SL Principles and framework: improving the impact and effectiveness of development aid; SL approaches in practice; How Policies, Institutions, and Processes (PIPs) shape the lives of the rural poor; Operationalising SL approaches
