The Centre for Development and Poverty Reduction (CDPR) is primarily involved in research on poverty reduction and its relationships with rural, agricultural and environmental issues.College at Wye is primarily involved in research on rural, agricultural and environmental issues.
 

Its research work includes:

  • rural institutions and their effects on livelihoods;
  • natural resource economics and environmental assessment;
  • access of the poor to input, output and financial markets;
  • the effects of globalisation on livelihoods of the rural poor; and
  • the roles of livestock in rural poverty reduction

CDPR has wide geographical experience and disciplinary expertise and, in the SL context, is involved in a range of research, development and teaching activities with partners around the world. Major emphasis in teaching is given to a vibrant distance learning programme using new technologies to communicate with students throughout the world. More info on research
