Technology for Sustainable Livelihoods (T4SL) shows how the
Intermediate Technology Development Group is responding to
sustainable livelihoods approaches. Keen to promote debate
and recognising that there is no one SL approach taken by
ITDG, T4SL highlights the role of "new technologies",
biotechnologies and information and communication technologies.
Reflecting on its work, ITDG
asks whether SL: is a repackaging of the kind of approach
it's been pursuing for many years; requires a fundamental
rethink of its activities; is complementary to existing activities;
or relevant to natural resources, but not really applicable
in other areas, such as enterprise development?
