Local transport solutions for rural development / Moyens de transport locaux pour le développement rural

Intermediate means of transport, including cycles and carts, fill the gap between expensive motor vehicles and tedious human effort. Sustainable transport solutions can have a range of positive impacts on livelihoods such as improving mobility and increasing household productivity.

Local transport solutions for rural development is a project website which presents the importance of local transport solutions to rural development, using photos and stories. It argues the case for better transport solutions, and draws on lessons from experience to point towards future directions.

The site hosts presentations on local transport solutions for rural development in both French and English. The site was prepared for the Rural Travel and Transport Program (RTTP) with funding from DFID.
