HelpAge International is a global network striving
for the rights of disadvantaged older people to economic and
physical security; healthcare and social services; and support
in their care giving role across the generations. They work

Key Example: Making Cash Count: Lessons
from Cash Transfer Schemes in East and Southern Africa for Supporting
the Most Vulnerable Children and Households
This study was conducted as part of a UNICEF-commissioned review
of social-protection measures reaching the increasing numbers
of vulnerable children in east and southern Africa. Save the
Children and HelpAge International were commissioned to carry
out the unconditional cash-transfer component of the review.
The Institute of Development Studies brought extensive knowledge
of food security and social protection in Africa to the project.
