Corps is responding to the Myanmar Emergency through a
secondment of its staff to the UK health organisation Merlin.
The Food Security and Livelihoods Manager will support all
functions for Merlin's emergency response operations and is
responsible for assisting in the oversight of general aspects
of Merlin's Food Security and Livelihoods operations.
Job Summary
The
Food Security and Livelihoods Manager provides advice and
leadership on the development and implementation of Merlin's
Food security/Livelihoods programming during the emergency
response and recovery period. This requires being responsible
for the overall management of all aspects of the program,
including assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring,
capacity building of local government partners
and Merlin staff, reporting, and evaluation of the program
and preparing periodic reports back to donors, as well as
close coordination with other Merlin efforts during the emergency.
Key Requirements
- An
BA/BSc or equivalent in relevant field
- 3
years Food Security/Livelihoods Program implementation Management
experience in developing countries.
- Demonstrated
experience and ability in donor and host government
representation, capacity building of local staff and local
government, negotiation, and monitoring are necessary.
- Effective
verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organisational,
prioritisation skills are necessary.
- Demonstrated
attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet
deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with
team members is required.
- Understanding
and experience utilising the Sphere Project's Humanitarian
Charter and Minimum Standards in Disaster Response and
other humanitarian standards and codes.
- Willing
to travel frequently and extensively throughout emergency
zone.
