The
Tailored Sustainable Livelihoods Training
This
course examines the concepts and tools of the Sustainable
Livelihoods Approach, to explain how livelihoods
are influenced and allow participants to promote fundable,
inclusive and self-driven community development plans.
You will explore different kinds of vulnerability,
analyse social structures and processes,
and learn about the challenges and successes of SLA approaches.
You will become familiar with participatory techniques
for planning, managing and monitoring and evaluation.
This course is not part of our scheduled programme; we can
run this course at a time and place to suit your needs, working
in partnership with your organisation to pick out the most
important areas for study.

10-14 All you need to know about project design,
participatory planning and implementing your project through
a robust log-frame. Integrate your long-term goals into
your day-to-day schedule.

and Evaluation:Cape Town July 7-18; Bangkok
Nov 10-21 A structured approach to developing,
maintaining and implementing an M&E system. Including
SMART indicators, data collection, analysis and communicating
results. Emphasis on participatory methods to promote stakeholder
commitment for sustainability.
- Advanced
Monitoring and Evaluation Workshop:Cape
Town July 21-25; Bangkok Nov 24-28 This course
will provide a step-by-step process for designing sustainable
M&E systems at programme level, addressing common challenges
such as the needs of multiple stakeholders; operating within
specific organisational and social cultures; dove-tailing
the requirements of project, area, regional and national
levels.
- Effective
Management Skills:Bangkok June 9-13; Bangkok Nov 17-21 Getting
the most from your team with communication, motivation and
other key management skills. Promote shared goals through
encouraging and supporting team development. Learn how to
delegate, manage your time, lead effective meetings, and
manage performance and change.
- Effective
Leadership:Bangkok June 15-20; Bangkok Nov 24-28
This course will give you skills and techniques to develop
your team, increase motivation, manage organisational change,
and understand and communicate with people even better.
You will also gain insights into organisational culture,
and effective management of the task, the team and the individual.
- Issues
in International Development:Brighton Sept 8-19
The issues faced by people in development work are complex
